Changelog

New tools, guides, fixes and changes, newest first.

16 new tools, fuller tool pages and 22 new guides

  • New tools: PDF OCR, PDF Protect, PDF Repair & Checker, Image to Text (OCR), Colour Palette Generator, YAML Formatter, JSON to CSV, Cron Expression Generator, IP to Decimal Converter, MAC Address Formatter, Text Extractor, Slug Generator, Overtime Calculator, Markup Calculator, Rent Increase Calculator and a Currency Converter with daily reference rates.
  • PDF Unlock now keeps the text, links and bookmarks, instead of saving every page as a picture.
  • Every tool page now explains what the tool is for, how your data is handled and its limits and accuracy, with more questions and answers and links to the standards it relies on.
  • 22 new guides. The 16 existing guides were checked against the current tools, updated and given official sources, and every guide now shows who wrote it and when it was last reviewed.
  • Four guides that only covered the UAE were replaced by worldwide guides on VAT and sales tax, rent increases, exchange rates and overtime pay.
  • New pages: How SAA Tool works, Privacy Center, FAQ, Glossary, Request a tool, Report a problem and this changelog. The All Tools page now describes every tool.
  • Fixes: hour steps and day names in the Cron Expression Generator, Hindi and other scripts with vowel signs in the Slug Generator, a .yaml download in the YAML Formatter, clearer notes in Text to PDF, the Character Counter and the QR Code Scanner, and the email security checker now explains that DMARC's pct tag was removed in RFC 9989.

73 more tools, category pages and a worldwide focus

  • IT and developer tools, calculators, unit converters and more PDF tools, then 18 image tools (HEIC, AVIF and SVG converters, passport photos, favicons and more), a QR code category with 14 tools, 20 text tools and 21 network tools such as speed tests, SSL, DNS, header and blacklist checks.
  • PDF to Word, Excel and CSV were rebuilt to keep columns, tables and shaded boxes.
  • Eleven category pages, and every tool page got its own how-to steps, questions and related tools.
  • Tools that only worked for the UAE were removed, and money tools now use your own currency.
  • After testing on the live site, the speed tests, SSL checks for sites behind Cloudflare and the DNS Speed Test were fixed.

Page addresses, first guides and site information

  • Every tool and guide got its own web address, with a sitemap for search engines.
  • The first 20 guides were published, with About, Contact, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages.
  • Fixes to the Hash Generator (files), Password Generator (every chosen character type) and QR codes (quiet zone).
